Wonderland Amusement Park Chenzhuang Village China – World

It’s been a while since I updated the world section of the blog, so I’ve decided I’m going to trawl through YouTube every day and bring you one abandoned video from around the world. Today we start with the Wonderland Amusement Park Chenzhuang Village, this is an explore by stuckincustoms on YouTube. The place looks absolutely amazing and it has been mentioned that it is like a fake Disneyworld. It’s to the north of Beijing and was only partially built before […]

Here’s a guest article from one of our friends Ricardo on YouTube. He has started to document the various abandoned places in Portugal. His videos are really great and the places look incredible.   When I was young (15yo) me and my friends used to go to an old abandoned factory, until we got caught by the police … Since then, when i pass by something abandoned i just want to explore it. Randomly I discovered the AbandonedScotland videos, and […]

St Peter’s Seminary – December 2011 – Guest Article

Written by Clare. You can see more of Clare’s photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/77535318@N04/ 28th December 2011 marked a birthday treat (!) to St Peter’s seminary. Since reading extensively about St Peter’s and following the various schemes to save it (including a hotel, health spa and private housing), it had become almost infamous in my mind. An excellent lecture the previous month held in the Glasgow Film Theatre (given by Angus Farquar of NVA) spurned me on enough to pester two friends to […]

Rosslynlee Hospital – October 2011

In October 2011 we paid a visit to Rosslynlee Hospital near Edinburgh, which closed completely in 2010. The main building was erected in 1874 with a number of new ‘wings’ and other buildings added over the years since. (Click for larger image)   The hospital has since been subject to a number of explorers, metal theives and other such people with it beginning to show signs of their visits. (Click for larger image)   A few of the newer outbuildings […]

Abandoned Nestlé Purina Factory Video – December 2011

Our last video of 2011 was from our visit to the Abandoned Nestlé Purina Factory. The Nestlé Purina factory in Barrhead, near Glasgow, made pet food – with a brief break to make baby food. The 200 employees were laid off in 2004, when Nestlé decided that the factory was uneconomic. Since being left abandoned several fires have taken place here destroying several areas of the factory, much of the factory has been stripped but several small details of what […]

Abandoned Balrossie School Video – January 2012

We actually had intended to go inside the Gray Dunn factory again to capture some of the fantastic views over the city but unfortunately on our return the place was sealed up tight with our previous entrance closed. Unfortunately with exploring it doesn’t always go to plan, so we left and looked at Balrossie School. The buildings from pictures we had seen from other pictures had wood boarding up and a few clear entrances, on arrival unfortunately all entrances had […]

Rosslynlee Hospital Video – October 2011

Some places like Rosslynlee Hospital, you spend ages walking around trying to find an entrance when it was under your nose the whole time. After looking at loads of different ways, we were in. There were some amazing items and details still there from when the hospital had closed. Rosslynlee Hospital was founded in 1874 under its original name of Midlothian and Peebles Asylum (1874 – 1948) then changed its name to Rosslynlee Mental Hospital (1948-60). Set in 64 acres […]
