Exploring the abandoned Mannequin Mansion Eastend House

This is actually a video we shot a couple of years ago but never had a chance to edit. Unfortunately from what I’ve heard it has deteriorated a lot since then and is now very dangerous to enter. The real surprise of Eastend House was the several mannequins that were left around the house. Click to subscribe to Abandoned Scotland on YouTube

Exploring the Abandoned House of Dunmore Park

Last week we posted up a video of our aerial exploration of the abandoned mansion Dunmore Park House. We posted up a video before of inside the abandoned house which you may have seen. Some of the amazing work that went into the 19th century building can only really be seen from the air. It was commissioned in 1820 by the 5th Earl of Dunmore. It was occupied as a family house until as recently as 1911 and remained as […]

Exploring an Abandoned Power Station Video

We’ve visited the site of ICI Nobel before but with each visit we never had the time to visit the giant building of the abandoned power station. It dominates much of the skyline here with many of the other buildings much smaller in size surrounding it. ICI Ardeer was commonly known locally as the ‘factory’ or the ‘Dinnamite’. At the time the company generally provided higher quality employment regarding terms and conditions and pension rights than other local firms. The […]

3D Mapping Abandoned House – Cambusnethan Priory

When we were considering buying our new Phantom 3 Professional drone, 3D mapping was one of the main reasons we decided to take the plunge and spend £800 to purchase it. I’ve always been fascinated with new technology and being able to show the old in a new way. 3D mapping allows us to do this by taking multiple photos around an abandoned building, which are geotagged by the Phantom 3 Pro, allowing the photos to be constructed into three dimensional […]

Blind Spot Gear – Lighting up History

A friend of ours Billy Campbell that you may remember from his amazing videos of the hidden Botanic Gardens Train Station and St. Peter’s Seminary is continuing his pursuit of exploring with his new company Blind Spot Gear. With his passion for lighting up the history that surrounds us it’s easy to see how it can become contagious. Here is his initial letter explaining his motto Explore. Light. Live. The Letter “History is dead!” that phrase is etched on my […]

Abandoned House of Lathallan

The abandoned house of Lathallan is a B-listed baronial country house near Polmont in Falkirk which was built in 1826. It was also known in some places as Lawrence Park. It was designed by the renowned architect Thomas Hamilton with much of the detailing being lost due to vandalism and it’s general deterioration leaving it close to an empty shell. There was a major fire in 2006 that some say was due to a squatter that had been living inside. […]

A look inside Balintore Castle Video

After our previous article on Balintore Castle we’re back with a look inside the formerly abandoned castle in video form. Balintore Castle is a victorian A listed building that was left abandoned for over 40 years. The castle is situated above the village of Balintore near Kirriemuir. It was designed in 1859 by William Burn. In the 1960s it was decided that the extensive dry rot would not be repaired and it was left abandoned until it was bought through […]
